ANNUAL MEETING of the General Assembly of the Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in South-Eastern Europe under the auspices of UNESCO in Sofia, Bulgaria

3rd Annual General Assembly/GA/ Meeting  of the Regional Centre for Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in South-Eastern Europe under the auspices of UNESCO was held in Sofia on April 1^st at the Sofia Hotel Balkan, the Royal  Hall.

The event hosted by the Regional Centre was attended by representatives from 13 Member States of the Centre – Bulgaria, Armenia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Türkiye, the two newly accepted members – Cyprus and Slovenia, and Greece as an observer. Representative of the Regional Bureau for Science and Culture of UNESCO in Venice also attended the forum.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Frank Proschan – Chairman of the GA, representative of the Director General of UNESCO.

Following the agenda – approved with absolute majority by the representatives of the Member States, the program for the meeting, separated into three work sessions, has been successfully fulfilled. All preliminary adopted objectives have been reached.  The representatives of the Member States appreciated the activities of the Centre and results achieved in 2013 and the plan for 2014 introduced to them by the staff of the Centre.

The next meeting of the General Assembly was scheduled for the beginning of April 2015.
