Workshop
“Strengthening capacities for implementing the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003)”

From Monday (13 October) through Friday (17 October) a 5-day workshop entitled “Strengthening capacities for implementing the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003)” took place in the building of the Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in South-Eastern Europe under the auspices of UNESCO.

The seminar is organized within the framework of the UNESCO’s capacity-building strategy for the Implementation of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and the approved work plan on the General Assembly (1st April 2014) of the Regional Centre Sofia.

The workshop offers the opportunity to improve the understanding of the Convention 2003 among key partners of Regional Centre Sofia. It aims also to enhance the cooperation between institutions active in the field of intangible cultural heritage. Two experienced UNESCO-trained facilitators, Mr Rieks Smeets and Mr Nikolay Vukov, were invited to deliver the training. Participants from various institutions attended the workshop.
