The Conference on ‘Intellectual Property, Intangible Cultural Heritage and Traditional Medicine in the context of policies for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage in the countries of South-Eastern Europe’ will take place on April 23-24, 2015 in Grand Hotel Sofia.

The Conference is organized in the framework of the Work plan of Regional Centre Sofia in close cooperation with United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Speakers from WIPO, consultants of UNESCO and experts from Southeast European countries will feature subjects like: Intellectual Property and Intangible Cultural Heritage; Intellectual Property protection of traditional knowledge/traditional cultural expressions; cooperation and separate action of UNESCO and WIPO; UNESCO’s work on ICH safeguarding and how this relates to IP; IP and Traditional Medical Knowledge; IP and Documentation of ICH; etc.
