11th National Fair of Bulgarian folklore
from 7 to 9 of August, 2015 in Koprivshtitsa, Bulgaria
In August 2015, the National Fair of Bulgarian folklore celebrates its 50th anniversary. The Fair will meet thousands of admirers of the Bulgarian folklore in the area called “Voyvodenets” in the period 7-9 August and will run under the patronage of Ms. Irina Bokova, General Director of UNESCO.
All the participants are presenting programs based on the area folklore they come from. Regional festivals have been conducted all over the country before the national fair in Koprivshtitsa where the participants for the national fair have been distinguished. The fair will be organized upon seven stages arranged in the area called “Voyvodenets”. There will be two-additional stages in the town of Koprivshtitsa where the musicians, storytellers, folk tales, folk customs groups, instrumental, vocal and dance groups are going to perform the Bulgarian folklore.
The National Fair of Bulgarian folklore in the city of Koprivshtitsa will present the Bulgarian intangible cultural heritage and will be the proposal of Bulgaria for entering the register of UNESCO on best practices in 2016.
