16th National Meeting-Workshop of a National Section of CIOFF ® for Bulgaria in Veliko Tarnovo, February 27th 2016
On 27th February in the town of Veliko Tarnovo took place the 16th National Meeting -Workshop. It was organized by the National section of CIOFF® Bulgaria. The meeting was attended by over 100 leaders of folk ensembles, folk clubs, organizers of international folklore festivals and professionals from Bulgaria and other countries, working in the field of intangible cultural heritage.
The speeches for the opening was pronounced by Mr. Emil Pavlov – Chairman of the National Section of CIOFF® Bulgaria and Mrs. Greta Ivanova – representative of the municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, she also officialy presented a congratulatory letter from the Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo- Mr. Daniel Panov.
The theoretical part of the seminar was attended by representatives from the Ministry of culture of Republic of Bulgaria, the Ministry of Education and from the Regional Centre Sofia.
The annual prize “Zlatna kobilitza” was awarded in two categories:
For Person: to Mr. Petar Grigorov – for outstanding contribution to the safeguarding and the promotion of Bulgarian folk art.
For Institution: The Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in South- Eastern Europe under the auspices of UNESCO- for outstanding contribution to safeguarding and promotion of the intangible cultural heritage. Special certificates were also given to the members of its team.
At the official dinner was represented Folk Dance Group “Development”, which will take part in in the World Folkloriad of CIOFF® Inernational in August in Zacatecas, Mexico.
