The 4th annual meeting of the category 2 centres active in the field of intangible cultural heritage was held on 3 June 2016 at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris (France). The participants were representatives of the Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage in South-Eastern Europe under the auspices of UNESCO, as well as representatives of the worldwide category 2 Centres:
Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Africa;
International Training Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region(CRIHAP);
Regional Research Centre for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage in West and Central Asia;
International Research Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (IRCI);
Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Latin America (CRESPIAL)
International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (ICHCAP)
At the meeting presented the UNESCO’s Secretariat from the ICH section, as well as the representatives from the field offices of the Organization. The welcomed speech was made by Mr Tim Curtis, the chief section and the third Secretary of the 2003 Convention.
The general discussions were focused on the perspectives for the 2003 Convention as the Enlarged International Assistance, the Suistanable Development, the Codes of Ethics. There was highlighted the cooperation between the Centres and the Secretariat, the potential cooperation amongst the Centres. All the representatives from the Centres marked some issues in accordance to the individual experience how their Association cooperate with the institutions in their countries and discussed on the individual problems that they had in the process of the support the Implementation of the 2003 Convention.
