In the period 2016 – 2017 will be held the travelling seminar “Sharing Knowledge on the Intangible Cultural Heritage of South-Eastern Europe”.
This is a mutual scientific, educational and cultural initiative of the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies – Sofia, Bulgaria, Trakya University in Edirne – Türkiye, The University of Niš-Serbia and The Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in South-Eastern Europe under the auspices of UNESCO.
Throughout the travelling university seminar, a lot of prominent scientists and specialists in the field of the intangible cultural heritage will take part, amongst them many young scientists, PhD students and students from different Balkan countries.
The aim of the seminar is to create a conducive scientific and cultural environment for the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of the intangible cultural heritage. The seminar organizers believe that the meetings, talks, presentations of scientific papers and the discussions related to the intangible cultural heritage of South-eastern Europe will be a wonderful opportunity for communication among the participants, as well as an example of the establishment of a cultural dialogue and rapprochement between peoples.
From 26th to 28th October 2016, the first part of the traveling seminar took place in Edirne, the Republic of Türkiye. Besides Edirne, the participants visited the town of Lalapaşa.
From 23rd to 25th November, the second part of the seminar will take place in Niš, the Republic of Serbia.
The final part of the seminar is planned to be held in March 2017 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The Proceedings of the traveling seminar will be published in three volumes in English language.
