Montenegro –
Seminar on Sustainable Development on the topic:
“Preparation of nominations”
Cetinje, Montenegro
(7 – 11 March 2017)
Between 7th -11th March in the city of Cetinje will be held a workshop
at national level with a main topic “Preparation of ICH nominations” –
preparing a nomination and inscribing elements in the Representative
List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the world.
In implementation of the Work Plan for 2016 – 2017, the Regional Centre
for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in South-Eastern
Europe under the auspices of UNESCO, based in Sofia, in partnership with
the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro organize a training workshop on
main topic “Preparing nominations“.
The workshop will be held within five working days with the
participation of facilitators of the UNESCO network. The aim is to
clarify the steps in the process of preparation of nominations for
inclusion for the elements of ICH in national registers as well as in
the representative list for ICH World Intangible Cultural Heritage. This
training event is expected as very useful initiative, as Montenegro is a
Member State of the Regional Centre in Sofia since the 2012 and still
have not entered elements in the representative list of intangible
cultural heritage.
The workshop will refer topics related to the implementation of the
UNESCO Convention 2003 for the Intangible Cultural Heritage at national
level. The participants will have the opportunity to learn in detail the
nature of ICH and to take part in a training on identification and
establishment of national registers, as well to understand the
importance of the communities in the preservation of the intangible
cultural heritage.
