24/03/2017Successful conducting of the workshop on the topic “Preparing nomminations “ in Cetinje, Montenegro, 7-11 of March 2017
On 7th of 11th of March, a workshop on the topic of the “Preparing nominations “ was held in Cetinje, Montenegro. The training was organized by the Regional Centre for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage in South-Eastern Europe under the auspices of UNESCO and the Ministry of culture of Republic of Montenegro. It was delivered by two UNESCO trained facilitators from the capacity building network for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage – Mr Sasa Sreckovic (Serbia) and Mr Nikolai Vukov (Bulgaria). The workshop was dedicated to the preparation of nominations for inscription in the UNESCO lists and included presentations on these issues and practical implementation for preparing nominations for elements of intangible cultural heritage.
The workshop started with presentations of the participants and information about the scope, the basic topics, and the organization of the training. This was followed by an introduction to the UNESCO Convention for the intangible cultural heritage, a review of the procedures for preparing nominations, and discussions about the different steps in this process. During the second day the emphasis was on the practical activities of evaluating different nominations forms and on group debates about their ammendments and improvement. The third day included fieldwork activities in the city of Kotor where the participants conducted practical observations and discussed together the results of the work done. The last two days of the workshop were devoted to the details about the decisions for inscribing different elements on UNESCO lists, the mechanisms for international cooperation and assistance, as well as to practical activities for the completing successfully the nomination process for elements of the intangible cultural heritage.
