16-17 May: Council of Ministers of Culture of South East Europe – Enhancing Culture for Sustainable Development (CoMoCoSEE)
Within the framework of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Culture of South-East Europe (CoMoCoSEE), Sofia will host the Ministerial meeting on ‘Enhancing Culture for Sustainable Development’ on 16-17 May 2019. The event is organized in close cooperation with the Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe.
This meeting is a unique opportunity to discuss the importance of cooperation in the field of culture together with representatives of the European Commission, UNESCO and the Council of Europe. The main topic will be “Culture as a powerful tool in international relations”. The selected topic resulted of the important role of culture in foreign policy.
Cultural cooperation helps overcome stereotypes and prejudices by fostering dialogue, open-mindedness and mutual respect. Intercultural dialogue can help prevent conflicts and foster reconciliation within and between countries.
On 16 May the Senior officials of CoMoCoSEE meeting will be held.
