A workshop on Living Heritage Safeguarding and Sustainable Development designed as a Training for trainers at national level will be held in Lemnos Island, Greece from 8-11 May 2023. This training is organized by the Regional Centre Sofia-UNESCO, the Directorate of Modern Cultural Heritage in the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports and Mediterranean Institute for Nature and Anthropos (MedINA). It is the second training in Greece after the successful first workshop on developing safeguarding plans, held in 2021.
This year, the training involves a multidisciplinary group of experts working in the field of cultural heritage in different parts of Greece. The program will develop strategic business planning skills aiming at promoting the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage in the context of social, economic, natural and cultural sustainability in specific locations or territories where the trainees themselves are located.
The trainers for this workshop are Ms Harriet Deacon and Ms Benedetta Ubertazzi, both part of UNESCO’s global network of facilitators.
The activity is listed in the approved Workplan 2023 of the Regional Centre Sofia.
